Technology outage slows CSX operations; security team rules out cyberattack — Ponte Vedra Beach Technology news

CSX is working through a technology outage that began Tuesday. The company’s security team has confirmed the disruption was not a cyberattack and that no data breach occurred, according to a spokesperson.Officials said technology teams were working to correct the outage, and systems were coming back online on a rolling basis. Not all functions are fully restored, but key functions remain limited.Crew calling requires significant manual work, which is contributing to a slower pace of operations.CSX is currently unable to complete interchanges with other Class I railroads. Limited interchange continues with the Belt Railway of Chicago (BRC) and Conrail, using their paperwork and processes. CSX said it is in regular communication with the other railroads, the Federal Railroad Administration, and the Surface Transportation Board. The outage is contained to CSX systems.
