Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Mark Rendell is leaving his position to join Eastern Florida State College after serving the school district for over two decades.Rendell started his education career as a teacher before moving into school leadership. Prior to serving as superintendent, he taught and led at Satellite High, Melbourne High, Eau Gallie High, Titusville High, Cocoa High and Cocoa Beach Junior-Senior High.School Board Chair Matt Susin highlighted Rendell’s role in restoring the district’s academic standing, noting that the district’s performance grade had fallen from an A to a B and stayed there for five years before Rendell assumed leadership.“When Mark became Superintendent, our district had slipped from an A to a B and had stayed there for five years. He didn’t just set goals. He built a leadership team that could carry the work and together they drove Brevard back to a high-performing district,” Susin said.Susin commended Rendell’s personal standards and commitment
