St. Johns County Fire Rescue is keeping a close watch on rising water levels as heavy rain, strong winds, and approaching king tides create hazardous conditions across the area.Our News4JAX crew was on the scene at Vilano Beach early Wednesday morning, where conditions were already challenging — wind was gusting heavily, and high tide was pushing close to the pier. The crew reported rough driving conditions along I-95 South from Duval County into St. Johns County, with heavy rain and strong gusts throughout the commute.Crews on standby, ready to respondSt. Johns County Fire Rescue Engineer Chris Naff, who has been with the department for nearly 20 years, said the department is no stranger to conditions like these.“Yeah, so this is pretty common, especially this time of year,” Naff said. “We’re obviously in hurricane season, but we deal with nor’easters on a pretty regular basis.”Naff said crews are fully prepared and actively monitoring the situation.“Our marine rescue division’s ready
