Heavy rain brought nuisance flooding to parts of Jacksonville, including the Mixontown neighborhood near McCoy’s Creek, but people who work in the area said conditions appeared better than in past storms.The neighborhood runs parallel to the creek, which has flooded nearby roads for years. In July 2021, several people were rescued from flooded roads along McCoy’s Creek Boulevard, about a month after the creek restoration project began. The project is now complete.During the latest rainfall, water blocked some roads and forced drivers to turn around.
