A Jacksonville man is behind bars after detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested him in connection with a deadly shooting on Broward Road.Keith Carter, Jr. was arrested Saturday on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held at the Duval County jail. Officers from JSO’s District 6 responded Friday to a reported shooting on Broward Road near Interstate Center Drive. They found a man in his 40s lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. JSO says detectives worked through the night, conducting multiple interviews and executing search warrants before identifying Carter as the suspect. He was taken into custody Saturday. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said its thoughts are with the victim’s family as the investigation continues.
