Driver killed in two-vehicle crash at intersection of Edgewood Ave. and Cleveland Road

A driver is dead after a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.JSO says just before 4 p.m., a maroon Toyota Scion was traveling southbound on Cleveland Road when it collided with a black Dodge Ram truck traveling westbound on Edgewood Avenue West at the intersection of the two roads.Both people in the Toyota Scion were transported by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department to a local hospital. The driver of the Scion was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Dodge Ram was evaluated on scene by JFRD and sustained only minor injuries, according to JSO.JSO says this is the 127th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
