Duval County District Five School Board Member Reginald “Reggie” Blount is responding to two recent incidents affecting his district. In a statement sent to News4JAX, Blount said, “I am deeply disturbed by the recent incidents in our school district. As the District 5 representative, I expect the Superintendent and key district personnel to take every necessary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. This includes verifying that all personnel with access to students have been properly vetted and cleared for employment, as well as ensuring that community volunteers meet all applicable screening and background-check requirements.”He went on to say, “The recent incidents at Riverside High School and Love Grove Elementary School must be addressed promptly and appropriately. I expect a thorough and impartial investigation into both incidents, with appropriate action based on the findings.”[RELATED: Parents seek answers after DCPS says Riverside football coach candidate
